FireAnnealing the ring shank. Gold and silver gets work hardened when you forge so you need to heat the piece up to a certain temperature to relax the molecules and allow you to continue working the metal.
The fusing of the ringInstead of soldering the band, Im opting to fuse the band, fusing is much stronger than soldering. I place a thin sheet of 18ct into the seam so that I can “melt” the thin sheet to the ring shank.
